Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide professional administrative support to the Director of Strategic Communications & Engagement. Assisting with digital communications, video production, website and social media militance and presence, event planning and execution, proofing and writing articles and updates to be published stand-alone and/or included in college newsletters, clerical tasks, survey creation, and distribution.

Specific DutiesAssist/compile LFCE newsletter, Dean's updates, and other LFCE and Center email communications;Maintain and update LFCE websites and increase digital engagement including social media presence and posts;Help with digital engagement including social media presence and posts;Create, edit, and help facilitate promotional material (flyers, press releases, email announcements);Create, maintain, and manage events on event platform;Correspond and coordinate with other departments, vendors, and speakers;Make deliveries across campus, order and maintain LFCE and Center swag inventory, and perform other tasks/duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsMust be a current University of La Verne student with Federal Work Study eligibility for the 2023-2024 academic year.Experience in a professional, customer-focused environment.All aspects of communication with an aptitude for writing, social media, and media production.Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Google Apps, and similar cloud-based platforms.Should be comfortable using and learning a range of software and hardware tools.Must possess strong relational and organizational skills.Must be able to manage own assignments and work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of Adobe CC or Final Cut, meta-data tagging, and/or database management.Ability to facilitate within both Windows and OS X environments.

Benefits Summary

Employees are eligible for the following benefits:

One hour of Paid Sick Leave for every 30 hours worked, with a maximum accrual of 24 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year and capped at 48 hours.

University of La Verne Defined Contribution Retirement Plan - can contribute employee voluntary contributions, excluding wages derived from federal work study funds.

In accordance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), employees who work an average of 30 or more hours per week, will be eligible for medical coverage through the University of La Verne.

Covered under the University of La Verne Workers Compensation Insurance.
