Consulting, designing and educational delivery has never been more engaging and dynamic! The Hartford's Sales Enablement University is seeking an Academic Design and Delivery Consultant with a zeal for innovation, a passion for consulting, and fervor for facilitation. Join our team and help build profitable growth within the Small Commercial, Group Benefits and Personal Lines Sales Organizations.

+ This position takes accountability of the Professional Mastery pillar consulting, designing and delivering Sales education to The Hartford business units, including Small Commercial, Personal Lines and Group Benefits.

+ This role maintains the educational curriculum for the Professional Mastery pillar with additional collaboration within the New Hire and Leadership learning pillars.

+ The Academic Design and Delivery Consultant requires a strong understanding of business strategy, goals, and opportunities to ensure training aligns with business objectives.

+ The Academic Design and Delivery Consultant requires a high degree of collaboration within the Sales Enablement University team, Business Leaders, and Business Unit Subject Matter Experts.

+ The Sales education provided is designed to enhance the "TOPS" core competencies, meet the learning objectives defined by the business, and effectively and efficiently drive profitable growth.

+ The position is accountable for recommending training methodologies and developing engaging curriculum leveraging adult learning principles with a balance of self-directed and facilitator led experiences.

+ The educational session delivery and facilitation is essential to ensure full engagement of the audience and achieve the desired learning objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Business Consulting 25%

+ Critical thinking and Intellectual energy: Demonstrate strong listening, questioning, and checking skills - not afraid to ask the tough and provocative questions. Diagnoses the problem before providing a solution.

+ Influencing / Negotiating skills:

Ability to integrate a personal style and social presence, gaining respect though a consultative approach; suspends judgment, remains objective and truly listens to the perspective of others, seeks first to understand, integrates the perspective of others into the proposed solution, gains commitment and mutually agreed upon next steps that will drive the desired outcome.

Role models the behavior for others.

+ Executive presence: Has composure, is self-aware and able to control emotions and manage response. Communicates confidence both in what is said and how it's said.

+ Consult with business partners to ensure all learning curriculum is relevant, accurate and meeting LOB needs.

Education Design 15%

+ Design, develop and deliver learning and development programs to respond to key segment initiatives.

+ Develop and deliver performance solutions that will address any deficiencies to improve education effectiveness.

+ Leverage best practices of field subject matter experts and advisory councils to design learning solutions.

+ Ensure use of adult learning principles in end-to-end learning solutions.

Educational Delivery 30%

+ Facilitate engaging and impactful introductory and mastery educational sessions as applicable for role.

+ Master virtual and onsite facilitation through various interactive instructional tools and media.

+ Deliver end-to-end solutions for skill-building, performance, reinforcement learning at an appropriate pace to ensure desired outcomes.

Project Management 20%

+ Exhibits a relentless drive to deliver exceptional results, overcoming obstacles through problem solving, influencing skills and determination within an environment of competing priorities.

+ Leverage the Engagement Plan framework for segment initiatives, consulting with leaders on learning objectives and recommending design and delivery options.

+ Manage team projects and initiatives through effective planning and communication with attention to time-frames and due dates as outlined within the Engagement Plan framework.

Leadership 10%

+ Take accountability of the Professional Mastery learning journey: Consult, Design, Deliver and continuously enhance to effectively drive profitable growth.

+ Retain a strong understanding of business strategy, goals, and opportunities to ensure training aligns with business objectives.

+ Assess the impact of deliverables, communicate with business leads on the measurement results, and determine if follow-up is needed to achieve the desired outcomes.

Qualifications:

+ 3+ years of formal professional experience in a Learning role desired.

+ Deep business acumen.

+ Working knowledge of sales practices and methodologies with a proven ability to coach.

+ Strong informal or formal leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop others.

+ Demonstrated influencing skills with an ability to work effectively with all levels of leadership and individual styles.

+ Demonstrated presentation and facilitation and delivery skills.

+ Strong ability to motivate and persuade others.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to consult.

+ Strong ability to impart information in a clear and concise manner.

+ Strong organizational skills.

+ Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple priorities.

+ Ability to work in a fast-changing environment.

+ Ability to lead change.

+ Experience in the design and delivery of various learning methodologies a plus.

+ Effective teamwork and collaboration skills

+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement, hybrid reporting is preferred.

Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$96,160 - $144,240
