This position provides grant-seeking, grant-writing and project management support for systemic grant development activities and facilitates grant development for Arlington Public Schools (APS). They are responsible for identifying, obtaining, processing, and tracking federal, state, foundation, and private enterprise grants for APS. This position streamlines the grant development process and secures funding for various projects in the school district that are aligned with APS strategic prioritiesRESPONSIBILITIES:Provides grant writing support and technical assistance to schools and central office staff in developing and submitting competitive grant proposals.

Conducts grant searches across a variety of funding sources to identify competitive local, state, federal, and private funding opportunities based on knowledge of Arlington Public Schools'(APS) strategic funding needs.

Evaluates and recommends pursuit of grant opportunities based on a cost benefit analysis variety of factors, including without limitation APS strategic priorities, sustainability, and long-term planning.

Designs and implements proposal development tools (i.e., proposal development timeline and proposal scoring rubric) to ensure consistent and effective collaboration of the grant development team subject matters experts.

Research, reviews, and interprets relevant funding rules, policies and regulations related to grant acquisition from the federal, state, local agencies, and private institutions. Identify subject matter experts appropriate to individual opportunities and form appropriate committees.

Analyzes a variety of system data and writes cogent responses to requirements of the grant proposals and strategic plans.

Researches and identifies new and improved systems and processes for tracking grant activities and maintains grant-seeking, proposal, and funding records in online grant systems.

Collaborates in planning and project managing the work of others and designs and implements grant seeking processes and procedures.EXPERIENCE:Knowledge of and ability to analyze grantor procedures, guidelines, preferences, and requirements and assure that APS applications are consistent with these.

Thorough understanding of standard grant and pre-award procedures.

Ability to work independently and, when necessary and appropriate, act as negotiator with grantors.

Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Knowledge of public and private funding sources, funding cycles and grants databases.

Ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and oversight.

Demonstrated experience and expertise in writing competitive grant proposals or research and/or evaluation reports.

Considerable knowledge of trends in federal, state, and other funding sources, funding mechanisms and the grant proposal development process.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, business administration, communication or a related field required; master's degree preferred.

A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in educational research and/or proposal development required.

Grants Professional Certification (GPC) or related certification preferred.APPLY TO: SALARY:Salary will be based on the FY2024-25 SY salary schedule. Hourly rate is $39.19 per hour.DAYS:
