OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY:
The
Broadcast Editor
is primarily responsible for editing sermons/messages, commercials, promos, and graphics and will also edit and produce special elements for the weekly and daily broadcasts for the Changing Your World television broadcast.
Supervisory Duties:
None
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Edit television programs incorporating all assigned visual and audio segmentsEdit commercials and promotional spots airing within the TV broadcastCreate/Edit broadcast graphics as neededConfirm that all content/graphics comply with CYW/CDM brand standardsEfficiently edit content in a timely manner meeting strict deadlinesIncorporate good storytelling techniquesEnsure that all technical guidelines are adhered to within the contentManage digital assets in organized mannerCommunicate effectively with co-workers and outside vendorsRemain up to date on new and emerging industry and media trendsMaintain stable performance and demeanor when working under pressureOther duties as assigned
EDUCATION:BS or BA degree in communication, media and/or film production or related fieldHigh School Diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:5+ years' experience of professional video editing for documentary, commercial, or educational contentStrong understanding of editing workflows and file structureIn depth understanding of required broadcast standardsProficient in Final Cut Pro, Premiere, or AvidDetail oriented with the ability to prioritizeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure
SKILLS/ABILITIES:Ability to use sound judgment.Exhibit a high level of creativityOutstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse groupAbility to work in a collaborative, creative team environmentAble to accept recommended changes and critiques in a professional mannerAble to work in a strict process-oriented environment with quality control checkpointsAble to manage multiple projects effectivelyTroubleshoot minor system and equipment issues and initiate repairs requestsExcellent organizational skillsMust be thorough, precise and detail orientedCommitment to deadlines and timelinesSelf-starterProficient using MacOS and PCStrong familiarity with English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc)A gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations
