JOB SUMMARY:

Performs design, drafting, and other technical functions required to meet business demands. Performs original design and layout work under supervision of an engineer in implementing new or modified products on CAD equipment. Uses specifications, sketches, and ideas submitted to him/her in developing a design.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

* Reviews new orders for technical completeness and coordinates with order entry, customer, or company representative to answer questions and resolve differences* Creates drawings and bills of material (BOM) to comply with sales order requirements* Prepares layouts and detail component drawings, prepares bills of material, and initiates engineering changes or releases as required for standard orders or new products. Complex projects will require assistance from Product Engineer* Assists Sales, Customer Service, and Manufacturing in resolving design (basic to moderate level of complexity), drawing, bill of material and technical issues* Assists in the resolution of shop floor or vendor manufacturing problems* Full working knowledge of all engineering processes / workflows, engineering software / tools and basic product knowledge* Review peer drawings and BOMs to ensure drawings meet customer requirements and provide feedback as necessary

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

* Minimum of 5 years experience designing progressive cavity pumps or rotating equipment* Minimum of 10 years experience in mechanical design and drafting* Knowledge of engineering theory, mathematics, and practical mechanics to solve design and production problems* Working knowledge of MIP operating systems (Team Center and PDM Vault) and procedures is essential* Experience using SolidWorks (Preferred) or equivalent
