Communications and Blueprint Coordinator

LOCATION:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the implementation and the development of reports for the Blueprint for Maryland's Future by government units operating in Calvert County. Collaborates with administrators and supervisors across the school system to design, coordinate, and evaluate programming per the Blueprint for Maryland's Future. Serves as the school system's liaison to appropriate County and State agencies as part of the implementation strategy. This includes collaborating on the development, implementation, and monitoring of the CCPS plan and budget. This individual interfaces with both Calvert County Public Schools and Calvert County Government. Serves as the CCPS Public Information Officer (PIO) and coordinates all official communications with the media, the larger CCPS community, and families.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in an area such as English, Communication, Public Service, or Organizational ManagementMaster's Degree preferredThree years of successful work experienceExperience in developing procedures, program management, and/or grant managementLeadership experience preferred

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND DUTIES:Serves as the CCPS Public Information Officer (PIO) and coordinates communications with the media, with the website, with the larger community, and with staff and families.Collaborates with schools and departments on messages for the community and media releases.Serves as the CCPS Blueprint Implementation Coordinator as defined in the Blueprint for Maryland's Future.Serves as the Pillar 5 chair for the CCPS Blueprint Implementation Plan.Represents CCPS at statewide Blueprint coordinator meetings and events.Serves as the Blueprint Facilitator and delegates needed tasks for implementation by the Pillar Chairs.Monitors and tracks all mandated Blueprint outcomes for each Pillar (1-5) with an overall focus on CCPS improved student outcomes.Develops and coordinates system communications for the Blueprint, including the website.Provides reports (Semi-Annual) that evaluates and indicates CCPS Blueprint outcomes and needed strategies to increase/maintain such outcomes. Included in this report will be success criteria for each Pillar.Administers and monitors all activities associated with compliance to federal and state regulations related to the Blueprint for Maryland's Future and other various local, state, and federal educational funded programs.Serves as liaison between CCPS and County Government on matters related to Blueprint for Maryland's Future Education initiatives, programs, and Blueprint funding that impacts CCPS operating budget.Provides overall project management that includes but is not limited to facilitation, implementation, management, monitoring, and reporting of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future to internal and external stakeholders.Serves as a liaison with various local, state, and national agencies and organizations, including but not limited to the Blueprint for Maryland's Future Accountability Board, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), Maryland State Board of Education (MSBOE).Assists in the supervision of the National Board Certification process.Provides leadership for the comprehensive planning and operational implementation of Blueprint for Maryland's Future funding and related programs.Works cooperatively with all CCPS departments to coordinate, develop, implement, and evaluate Blueprint for Maryland's Future funded programs, including leadership and professional learning.Works cooperatively with the CFO to develop, oversee, and manage the Blueprint for Maryland's Future funding.Works collaboratively with Human Resources and related departments to plan, coordinate, monitor, and track career ladders and performance initiatives, certification requirements, and teacher evaluation as it relates to Blueprint for Maryland's Future initiatives.Works cooperatively with Early Childhood in the planning and development of programs, including the expansion of PreK and Judy Center programs.Researches and evaluates Blueprint for Maryland's Future initiatives trends and provides further recommendations as needed.Prepares and presents reports about programs related to the implementation of Blueprint for Maryland's Future associated initiatives with various stakeholder groups including the Board of Education.Demonstrate professional demeanor to all stakeholders of Calvert County Public Schools.These are intended only as examples of the various job duties to be performed. OTHER DUTIES:Performs related work as required or assigned by the Chief Operations Officer.Is available to work flexible hours as requested.Works extended hours and weekends as necessary to ensure communication of essential information and to complete job tasks and assignments.Is available to various student, teacher and community groups for education-related purposes beyond the regular workday.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Position requires significant periods of standing walking, and periodic lifting.

UNUSUAL DEMANDS:

May be subject to flexible hours. Travels to schools as necessary.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Twelve (12) month position and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience applied to the 2024-2025 salary schedule for Administrators and Supervisors. All employees are encouraged to have automatic payroll deposit.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.

References must be directly related to educational experience and must include current immediate supervisor.

State law requires that anyone hired after October 1, 1986, who will have contact with school children, must be fingerprinted and submit to a criminal background investigation. Federal law requires that a new employee must complete the Employment Eligibility Verification (Form I-9) in person before beginning employment. Employment is conditional upon successful completion of a drug screen. Current employees of the Calvert County Public Schools are exempt from these requirements.
