What We Offer

The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is

$105,000 - $128,000.

The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

In this position you can expect to work on site a minimum of 3 days per week at the Denver International Airport with occasional evenings and weekends.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Branding, this position is both team manager and graphic designer mixed with strategic and out of the box thinking. We are looking for someone that is a big thinker but has their feet firmly on the ground and is organized, proactive and enthusiastic to execute all levels of graphic design, photography and video projects that vary in scale, type and urgency.

Creative team leader and people manager with 3-5 years of experience managing creative staff across multiple disciplines.Supervise three FTE employees including a graphic designer, photographer and videographer in addition to recruiting and managing contract creative staff. This position requires leadership, coaching, mentoring, oversight of work plan, goal setting and performance management.Manage the creative process from concept to completion, utilizing DEN's established branding guidelines, providing recommendations and timelines, and developing and executing appropriate design and creative strategies to achieve business objectives.Create digital and traditional designs including collateral, signage, large format creative, advertisements, event materials, web graphics, infographics and other internal and external deliverables.Working knowledge and experience with ADA compliant design for digital, print and video.Fulfill everyday requests for various design assets, templates and logos, delegating tasks when appropriate. Ability to manage many last minute design requests and prioritize for themselves and the team efficiently and effectively.Enhance brand templates (word docs, pdfs, emails signatures, ads, etc) to create consistency and offer an arsenal of ready to use tools.Operate as a partner with outside vendors regarding production of various creative assets, overseeing all phases of production including printing processes, paper selection, color calibration, in-person press checks and managing deadlines.Follow project management procedures to track projects and requests, and allow for quick reporting and updates on projects, deadlines, etc.Demonstrated working knowledge of project management tools (Wrike experience preferred) and methodologies including scheduling, proofing processes and traffic.What You'll Bring

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or a related field.Experience: Three (3) years of experience at the type and level of functional or operational management, which must have included supervision of marketing and/or communications professionals.Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
