Summary This position is part of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Enterprise Services Division (ESD), Telecommunications Branch. GS-12 Salary Range: $99,200 - $128,956 GS-13 Salary Range: $117,962 - $153,354 Responsibilities Maintains telecommunications asset inventory, E911 record and related documentation with TDM technologies. Performs analysis and troubleshooting of VOIP configuration, voice quality, LAN and wifi issues, cabling punch downs, fiber installation, patching, and activating network. Performs end user requests for moves, adds, changes, and repairs throughout the organization performing basic to medium troubleshooting of telephone related systems, network infrastructure, servers and voicemail services. Maintains contact with EISS and bureau program and project managers and other staff to assure delivery of services within service interval period taking appropriate action when service delivery interval cannot be met or when service is in jeopardy. Coordinates service ordering and delivery for all contracts used to satisfy commercial service requirements for programs falling within EISS. Qualifications Specialized Experience: At the GS-12 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes most if not all of the following: identifying and recommending improvements to enhance system capabilities; identifying acquisition strategies; conveying technical requirements for procurements; resolving contractor performance issues; and conducting studies to forecast and develop long-range plans. At the GS-13 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience for this position include Specialized experience for this position includes most if not all of the following: communicating complex information to facilitate policy decisions, procurements, and resolution of contractor performance issues; interpreting and applying communication policies and extend them to specific applications, assessing cost and operational impacts, assessing user, and organizational requirements; evaluating near and long term impacts associated with significant industry changes; and advising top level managers on applying new developments and advances in telecommunications techniques. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
