Description

The Staff Telecommunications Specialist will work on telecommunication design teams to create world class designs for new projects, alterations and redevelopments on a variety of projects including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government and military facilities. The Staff Telecommunications Specialist will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting telecommunication plans according to budget constraints, design factors or client needs.

Perform telecommunication design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion under the direction of a licensed professional engineer.

Modify and review production drawings for a variety of projects including, but not limited to: power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.

Design telecommunication components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers.

Applies strong knowledge of commonly used telecommunication engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the telecommunication engineering services industry.

Providing technical expertise and solutions to support the device building, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of the RT SCADA systems for the client’s distribution network.

Device building and mapping of various analog, status, calc, virtual, amp, analog points, history, settings and controls.

Resolves problems of limited scope within SCADA procedural guidelines in support of new device installation, upgrades, and replacements.

Coordination with field technicians, automation engineers, communication technicians, ADMS SCADA Specialists, project, program, and SCADA Managers to support the successful testing and release of devices

Research and compile project related data as required by the project managers.

Update drawings provided by senior engineers to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD related software.

Compiles information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration for the design of power, process, pipeline, industrial, healthcare, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.

Performs field inspections, measurements or calculations for public and private clients.

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Engineering Technology or related degree from an accredited program. and 4 years of telecommunication engineering experience, consulting preferred.

Experience working with RT SCADA systems, RTUs, Line-Reclosers, Capacitor Banks, Fusesavers, Pad Mounted Interrupters, Switches, Circuit Breakers, Transformer Banks, Relays, etc. for devices on Distribution Lines and within Distribution Substations preferred.

Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).

Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, telecommunication analysis programs.

Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

$115,000.00-150,000.00 Annually

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
