Channel Marketing Specialist (Remote) at Merck in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Job Description Channel Marketing Specialist Reports To: Associate Director, Channel Operations Manager Job Description: The Channel Marketing Specialist is responsible for organizing, developing, and implementing marketing initiatives that impact our company's Animal Health division through our Channel Partners. They collaborate closely with Distribution, eCommerce, Home Delivery, and Retail teams to successfully execute our Channel Strategy across the business and species. They facilitate routine internal stakeholder discussions with the Marketing Teams and Sales Leadership to ensure alignment of objectives and activation through Channel Partner meetings, trainings, and sales incentives. Primary Responsibilities: + Working across the organization to deploy Channel Marketing campaigns to significantly increase the visibility of our products + Lead the strategy and execution of Partner Training365, our company's Animal Health Channel Training platform. This includes organizing training requirements, creating trainings, and communicating about the resources available on the platform. + Develop and coordinate Channel Marketing Calendar with product leads + Coordinate conversations between internal/external marketing stakeholders in each of the Channels and across species. + Identify new areas for growth including utilization of platforms, private label opportunities, and opportunities for exclusivities through innovative and collaborative means + Analyzing market data, trends, consumer preferences, and competitive behavior to optimize marketing strategies. + Assists with Channel Operations budget management, and optimization + Maintain strategic relationships with existing Channel Partners + Deploying Channel Marketing strategies in collaboration with the Marketing Teams and other internal stakeholders + Coordination and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders across the organization, including coordination of special projects + Proactively identifies issues/risks and works quickly to implement solutions. + Works closely with the Channel Coordinator to deliver meaningful Channel Communications on a routine cadence and establish strong partner networks + Works to understand shopper behavior in various channels + Gathers data on the results of campaigns and surveys to create reports and identify what worked and what was less effective for various markets and audiences + Stays ahead of the curve and follows the latest digital trends and searches, as well as the newest technologies - working collaboratively with the Digital Team + Develops actionable customer insights to drive deeper understanding of business opportunities and challenges. + Searches for new Channel Marketing opportunities to drive business growth + Maintains positive relationships with channel partners by playing a critical role in delivering excellent customer service alongside the Companion Animal Field Activation Leads and Livestock National Account Managers Qualifications and Skills Required: + Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, communications, or related field. + Minimum of 3 years' experience in the animal health industry preferably within Marketing and/or Sales preferred. + Strong attention to detail + Strong interpersonal communicators + Able to coordinate projects effectively and connect cross-functional teams for a unified approach + Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills + Experience in Animal Health and awareness of both Livestock and Companion Animal Preferred + Knowledge of veterinary business objectives, pet owner and livestock producer buying behaviors + Travel up to 25% Leadership Behaviors: + Foster Collaboration + Focus on the Customer + Demonstrate Ethics and Integrity + Drive Results + Focus on the Customers + Make Rapid Disciplined Decisions Professional Competencies: + Working across boundaries + Proactive Communication + Business & Financial Acumen + Project Management + Problem Solving + Strategic Thinking + Influence without Authority NOTICE FOR INTERNAL APPLICANTS In accordance with Managers' Policy - Job Posting and Employee Placement, all employees subject to this policy are required to have a minimum of twelve (12) months of service in current position prior to applying for open positions.
