Middle School Media Specialist

to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the school library, promoting literacy, and a love of reading among students, and collaborating with teachers to support curriculum goals. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Managing the school library, including cataloging, organizing, and maintaining a diverse collection of books, digital resources, and other materials.Promote literacy and a love of reading through engaging library programs, activities and initiatives.Collaborate with teachers to integrate library resources into curriculum units and support student learningTeach information literacy skills, research techniques, and digital citizenship to studentsProvide support and guidance to students in selecting appropriate reading materialsFoster a welcoming and inclusive library environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and learning.

Frankfort Middle School is a school within the Community Schools of Frankfort and is located in a suburban area midway between Indianapolis and Lafayette, Indiana. FMS enrolls approximately 700 students where we are the

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in library science, education, or a related field. (Master's degree preferred)State certification/licensure as a school librarian/media specialistStrong knowledge and understanding of library management systems and educational technology toolsPositive teaching attitude with excellent communication skillsAbility to work effectively with diverse student populations and support the academic success of all students.
