Position Title:Video Producer

Time Type:Full time

Position Summary and Qualifications:The Video Producer will be responsible for the creation and production of high-quality digital media promoting the reputation and programs of the University. They will manage media production workflow of marketing videos and video-based advertising from conception to completion, including ideation/storyboarding, pre-production, principal photography, post-production work and management of the University's YouTube channel.

The Video Producer will also help the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team develop strategies, follow best practices and execute campaigns involving video on the web and applicable social media channels. The position will be knowledgeable of current video hardware and software and leverage them in creative ways to increase brand awareness, product offering, value offering, revenue and organic benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:In collaboration with the Creative Director and other senior Marketing and Communications leaders, identify strategies for using video effectively in advertising and marketing campaigns and for other promotional purposes in accordance with the University's strategic plan.Manage the full inventory and schedule of video projects throughout the fiscal year.Collaborate with the MarComm team on creative concepts for video assets.Interact and communicate with University stakeholders regarding production scheduling, securing student talent and reserving on- and off-campus locations for video shoots, including obtaining permits when necessaryManage talent photography releases.Ensure video assets reflect the University's brand strategy in terms of look, feel, tone, pace, story and overall quality.Strategize, shoot, edit, and distribute internal and external videos. These videos will help increase brand awareness, product offering, value offering, revenue, and organic benefits.Serve as producer and director of in-house video shoots and supervising producer and director on video shoots being handled by third-party vendors.Provide video support to the University's social media team.Collaborate with project leads to shape interview questions, talking points and intended sound bites.Record program material for production using university camera equipment; make technical decisions regarding elements such as appropriate lighting, camera placement, and audio capture devices.Edit and assemble final product, ensure consistency and relevancy to request, monitor technical quality of end product.Thoroughly test all video, audio, and lighting equipment to determine operational status and technical quality.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities:Serve as the primary video and photo archivist, ensuring that all non-athletic university footage and photo/video assets are properly stored and labeled.Assist with the security, operation, and maintenance of shared equipment utilized in-video production process.Support the audio-visual and production needs of major institutional events, including Athletics, as needed and as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:

RequiredBachelor's Degree or 4 years' experience in media and video production and A/V support.Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, including proficiency in Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Audition. Experience in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator a plus.Post-Production experience including color correction, audio mixing, and delivery.Experience in troubleshooting system failures in live venue environments.Experience in the use of complex control A/V systems.Knowledge of basic on-set production setups such as three-point lighting, microphone placement and capture.Must be knowledgeable of Cinema cameras and other common camera systems such as DSLRs, CMOS, and CCD.Must be able to effectively use tools such as camera stabilization systems and sliders.Should be familiar with TV- and video-based advertising standards, formats and practices.Must be familiar with best practices and optimal formats for developing and posting video and other digital assets for social media channels (social-first approach).Experience using a drone a plusMust have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be highly customer focused.Must be able to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrate creativity and initiative and be a self-starter.

Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:Must be able to climb/descend stairs and ladders while carrying 50 lbs of A/V equipment.Must be able to stand, lift and climb ladders to work with equipment mounted on walls and ceilings.Must be available to work Fridays, Saturdays, and evening hours.The position may require long periods spent in front of a computer.
