SUMMARY OF COMPANYSouthwest Shipyard, LP provides gas freeing and cleaning services, steaming, and flaring services, Barge and boat repair, Surface preparation and painting, water treatment and new construction services to the commercial and government marine industry. Southwest Shipyard owns and operates four (4) shipyards in South Texas with direct deep-water access to the Gulf of Mexico. Our motto is “Faster, Safer, Better”.Duties:Develop new strategies on layout design trends.Ability to add and subtract in feet and inches.Ability to read drawings.Ability to create lofting templates from construction drawings.Ability to create seam plate instructions from construction drawings.Ability to create nest tapes from construction drawings.Work in collaboration with lead layout foreman to create construction layout instructions.Assist in the interpretation and implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.Performs related duties as required.Specialist drawing as required for custom production work.

Job Requirements:College degree preferred.Previous experience in layout design.Previous experience with Auto Cad, ProNest, CNC, TXT files.Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to interface with all levels of management.Must have good judgment skills, and a high-level work initiative.Must be able to understand and abide by all company and safety regulations and policies.Must be able to work independently, without direct supervision.Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the positionUnderstand the company quality manual and procedures described therein.Physical/Environmental Requirements:Operations environment requires prolonged kneeling, standing, walking, twisting, climbing, and the ability to lift and carry in excess of 120 lbs, assisted.Ability to work in varied conditions (i.e.: heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, etc.), inside and outside.Must be able to work in confined space/heights

and operate equipment safely and efficiently.

SCHEDULE:Day Shift must be available for overtime and weekends.60 hours every week.$21-23/hr
