The Night Ministry

is a Chicago based organization whose mission is to provide

human connection, housing support, and health care

to members of our community who are unhoused or experiencing poverty. We've successfully provided these lifesaving services for 45 plus years, everyday providing a lifeline to our most vulnerable neighbors. We serve everyone without concern for race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity. Position Summary:

This role involves overseeing The Night Ministry's social media, contributing to the creation of a social media engagement strategy, developing impactful content, and partnering with the Communications Manager to manage accounts, track metrics, and enhance engagement. Responsibilities include contributing to the writing, design, and production of newsletters, blog posts, and other e-communications, as well as executing targeted efforts to grow the e-communications audience. The role also involves maintaining email marketing lists and the website, collaborating with the Individual Giving team on campaign materials, and managing the Google Ad Grant to optimize traffic to the agency's website. Additionally, you will assist with the creation of scripts and presentations for special events, maintain the marketing and press library, and ensure confidentiality in communications. Regular meetings with the Communications Manager and other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, English, or related field, or equivalent work experience.

Excellent writing skills with the ability to craft compelling stories.

Experience managing social media accounts.

Proficiency with email marketing platforms like MailChimp.

Experience with website content management systems.

Ability to collaborate effectively in a mission-driven, supportive, and fun team environment.

Nonessential Skills:

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).

Experience with nonprofit organizations and mission.

Hands on capabilities to complete graphics, photographic and web design work.

Experience with donor databases and/or CRMs.

Candidates must provide writing samples and a writing/editing assignment at the time of interview.

Compensation: $25.00-27.00 per hourAdditional Information:Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee must occasionally drive an automobile and the outreach bus; and lift and/or move 20 pounds.

Benefits: Full-time staff are entitled to full benefits after 30 days of employment, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, and more, starting 30 days after their employment commences.
