The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.Coordinates and communicates pig placement issues and information with internal and external customers. Tracks, analyzes, and reports on placement data. Moves 120,000 - 160,000 head per week between placements and sales. Schedules market haul loads. Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines.Core Responsibilities

Ensure communication of placement and sales schedules to Transportation Managers, location contact, field staff, accounting staff and feeder pig truckers as needed through written and oral communication protocols.Maintain schedules for nursery, finisher, and trucker schedules.Coordinates sales schedules and eliminates conflicts in pig movements as necessary in a professional manner.Ensures communication of pig placement to growers, transportation, accounting staff, production resource personnel and suppliers.Ensures timely feedback of customer concerns to department manager regarding trucking issues.Oversee communication with market, feeder and nursery trucks.Resolves down miles and efficiency issues within transportation.Maintains day to day communication with trucking vendors.Resolves daily scheduling constraints as they happen.Anticipates holiday schedules changes from farms and packing plants to schedule accordingly.Monitors local and regional weather conditions making scheduling adjust when necessary.Create swine movement files and assist location contacts in timely printing of information.Produce placement reports for transportation managers, truckers, nurseries, field and accounting staff.Interact with Accounting staff on issues and items for clarification of swine movement and load order information.Responsible for being in compliance with all environmental laws and procedures to which Smithfield Hog Production subscribes.Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company SIPS, EMS and BMS policies and procedures while performing their job duties.Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.Read and understand the company's emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Logistics, Ag Business, or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Ability to work under situations were there is pressure to complete tasks accurately and timely.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Mathematical Reasoning.Information organization.Current, valid driver's license.Ability to work variable hours as required by job duties.Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.Supervisory Responsibilities
