Mold Designer

About the position: Mold Designer will develop detailed drawings and 3D models for molds to be used for thermoplastic and thermoset molding. The mold designer must have experience with designing proper cooling and / or heating for the molds to be designed. The mold designer will help manage and monitor the mold build process and sometimes communicate with customers on schedules, progress of the tool, and tool design changes when required. Then mold designer will also lead tool design review discussions with customers and internal resources.The mold designer will be involved in reviewing first piece samples and assist by providing tool design related changes to properly groom tools to gain customer approval.Knowledge and experience preparing detailed tool build cost estimates is considered a strong plus. Basic familiarity with Mold Flow and other mold analysis tools is considered a plus as well.Job Requirements:Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field preferred.3+ years' experience in approved mold design is requiredExperience in specific industries (e.g., plastics, medical) preferredSkills:Proficient in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Pro E or Creo)Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with teams across all departmentsAbility to manage multiple projectsStrong attention to detailStrong time management skills and ability to meet deadlinesEOE M/F/D/V
