General Description
Within the Department of College Relations and under the direct supervision of the Creative Services Manager, this position will support the College's creative and design needs. This includes creation and preparation, from concept to production, of detailed graphics, conceptual and finished artwork and visual aids for College projects in both digital and physical production-ready formats.
Characteristics, Duties, and Responsibilities• Prepare designs and production layouts for brochures, catalogs, presentations, direct mail, college identity, and web/mobile sites• Determine the design, layout and formatting of materials. Integrate typographic, photographic, illustrative and graphic elements
Education Requirements• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design is required, BFA is a plus.
Experience• 3 years of professional graphic design experience
Competencies and Skills Required• Command a thorough knowledge of design and strong expertise in various software applications that focus on design and graphic arts• Demonstrated knowledge of specific software applications including the Adobe Creative Suite and font management software• Proficiency in MAC platform required; working knowledge of PC platform and MS Office programs and ability to work in cross-platform environment are required.• Familiarity and practical knowledge of print production requirements and design for print• Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems• Understanding of brand management and brand communication
Physical Demands and Work Environment• This position's duties are normally performed in a typical interior/residence work environment, based on the activity scheduled.• Some physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.• Some travel required.
Salary$30/hour

Terms of Employment
Part-time; hours not to exceed 25 per week. Flexible schedule to meet department needs. Some evening, weekends, and extended hours will be required. Ability and willingness to travel on short notice to all on and off- campus sites as needed by the college. Mandatory overtime is required throughout the year, especially at peak times. Employee must establish primary residency in New Jersey within one year of appointment unless an exemption applies.
