Jockey is seeking an Assistant Tech Designer, Apparel to join our Design team!

JOB SUMMARY

The Assistant Designer, Men's Apparel, acts as vital support to the Design team and plays an integral role in the design process.

This position will be located at our corporate headquarters in Kenosha, WI (between Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI area).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaborate with the designers to edit garment styles and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the PLM system.

Enhance garments seasonally by adding color to both garments and their BOMs in PLM systems, supporting the Design team in daily tasks.

Assist the Design team in compiling, organizing and preparing presentation materials.

Act as a reliable backup to the Designers by updating tasks in the PLM system.

Organize, label and maintain garment samples, ensuring their availability for meetings.

Ensure that all support tasks are completed according to critical path calendar dates.

Schedule virtual meetings for garment concept approvals.

Assist in documentation and tech pack creation.

Attend various department support meetings and product fittings, actively contributing to the design process.

Support the Design team by conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends.

Work in close collaboration with cross-functional teams to build relationships and drive business growth.

Assist with creating, presenting and updating seasonal roadmaps.

Prioritize workload based on calendars and seasonal timelines, while representing multiple seasons simultaneously.

Assist in creating Technical Drawings (TDs) and kits for artwork, setting up artwork in the PLM system and providing feedback on strike-off approvals.

Support designers in reviewing and validating color names and artwork within legal guidelines.

Assist in setting up and creating supporting materials for accounts and internal presentations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Possess 1-2 years of design experience, preferably in apparel.

Solid understanding of fabrics, trims and garment construction.

Comprehensive understanding of the design process.

Bachelor’s degree in design or related field.

Previous experience in design and/or product development is preferred.

Must demonstrate a solid understanding of garment construction and fabrics.

Ability to illustrate and flat sketch to effectively communicate design concepts.

Proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator.

Exposure to developing presentation boards.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to effectively handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Flexible and adaptable.

Ability to take initiative and demonstrate a pro-active attitude.

Proficient in Adobe Suite, specifically Illustrator.
