Must be able to work onsite at our Ann Arbor, MI office 1-2 times per week.The Senior Marketing Manager, Events at VelocityEHS is tasked with planning, coordinating, managing and overseeing the company’s participation in live events, including tradeshows, conferences, meetings, user conference, customer summits and speaking engagements. This is a high-level role within the company and requires a strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguous situations and excels at problem-solving. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses exceptional project management skills, and motivates others to deliver materials on time. They exhibit drive, determination and thrive in fast-paced work environments and working under tight deadlines. This person will work with the Marketing Events Director to contribute to the development of a business strategy around events, aimed at maximizing brand awareness, fostering relationships, and generating high-quality prospects. Additionally, they will work cross-departmentally with key stakeholders, including subject matter experts (SMEs), executives and other personnel, to ensure program success.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Work with the Marketing Events Director to develop a strong event strategy—both internal and externalWork with cross-functional teams to ensure the VelocityEHS brands are accurately and effectively represented at eventsAdapt event schedule to accommodate evolving business needsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedLogisticsServe as the point of contact for 25+ live events at any given timeManages and oversees logistics for 25+ live events at any given timeManages the booth inventory and works with Marketing Director of Events to update displays and signage as requiredManages, tracks, and orders giveaway items and apparel as requiredHold planning- and update-meetings as needed with stakeholdersBuild and maintain strong relationships with vendors, partners, clients, and conference points of contactsAttend events as neededPerforms other job-related duties as assignedProject ManagementDevelop and manage event timelines, communicates deadlines, and assigns roles and responsibilities to staff and clients as necessaryManage the post-event process to collect and share feedback, and identify areas for improvementAnalyze and report on the effectiveness of events and related activities based on key performance metricsManage and track show invoices and expenses to help maintain the overall events budgetOversee the proper and timely collection, routing and tracking of event-obtained sales leadsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedCommunications & DesignWork with designers to develop creative assets as neededWork with the marketing cross-functional teams to develop event communications (graphics, landing pages, emails, social posts, video etc.), and ensures the timely fabrication and delivery of such itemsCrafts and edits marketing copy for email, social media and advertisements, landing pages, as requiredWork with stakeholders to determine appropriate speaking opportunities/engagementsDrafts and edits speaking abstracts and submissionsPerforms other job-related duties as assignedMinimum Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field8-10+ years of experience managing trade shows, conferences, and meetings for B2B organizationsStrong customer service and project management skillsStrong decision-making, critical thinking, organizational, and prioritization skillsOutstanding verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work across departments and in cross-functional teamsSelf-motivated, dependable, and persistentFlexibility to travel 20% of the timeAvailability to respond to calls/emails outside of standard business hoursProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, social media applications (e.g., blogs, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.), and communication tools (e-mail marketing software)Experience using Salesforce, Marketo, Microsoft Teams, and Event Management Tools (Team Up, Trello, RegFox, etc.)Preferred Skills and Qualifications:Achieved the designation as a certified meeting plannerMaster’s degree in communication or related field15+ years of tradeshow management experienceWe welcome and encourage diversity in the workplace.
