WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, Workers Compensation Division, has an opening for a Senior Marketing Specialist in our Sacramento, CA office. As a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, the Senior Marketing Specialist will support the Director of Marketing Communications by applying their in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry to day-to-day tasks. In this non-supervisory role, the specialist will orchestrate various marketing and communication activities, contribute strategic ideas, lead projects, and play an active role in executing Marketing initiatives.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESCHANNEL STRATEGY AND EXECUTION: Develop and coordinate marketing and communication channel strategies aimed at acquiring new agencies, attracting policyholders, and retaining existing new ones. Utilize tools such as Salesforce Account Engagement, LinkedIn, Adobe Creative Suite, VEED, Vimeo, Frame.io, Asana, WordPress, Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Contribute individually and collaboratively with teams to ensure effective implementation across all channels.DAILY MARKETING: Manage day-to-day marketing tasks, ensuring that campaigns and projects run smoothly, and that both internal and external communications are aligned with organizational goals. Actively lead Asana project and task management with the Marcom team to ensure projects and tasks are completed on time and within scope.CONTENT CREATION AND MANAGEMENT: Support the development, production, and distribution of content across various communication channel platforms, including collateral, email, social media, the advancement of video content, introduction of internal and external podcasts, a new issue-based Loss Control publication, and an internal and external bimonthly e-newsletter. Maintain a cohesive editorial plan and execution calendar to ensure all content efforts are timely, consistent, and coordinated.FIELD MARKETING AND EVENT SUPPORT: Collaborate with event planner to develop content for field marketing initiatives. This includes creation of promotion materials, supporting sponsorship marketing and communication requirements, and ensuring that event-related content aligns with broader Marketing and business goals.STAY CURRENT WITH INDUSTRY TRENDS: Keep abreast of industry changes and trends, proactively recommending and adapting marketing communication strategies and content plans to stay relevant and effective in the competitive landscape.COLLABORATION AND COMMUNICATION: Build strong relationships with other departments and SME's to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned with Company goals. Support the Director of Marketing Communications to prioritize Marcom team resources and execute internal and external communications, ensuring consistency across all platforms.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Business, Communications, Journalism, or related field, required.EXPERIENCE: The following are required:A minimum of 8 years of marketing experience focusing on insurance industry marketing and communication required.Experience with email marketing platforms like Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement or other equivalent enterprise email marketing automation and CRM platform.Experience with project management tools such as Asana and comfortable with IT Agile methodologies.Demonstrated experience managing a company social media page within a social networking platform like LinkedIn and a visual content social media platform like Instagram. Experience with social media management platforms like Sprout Social and Hoote Suite is a plusTECHNICAL SKILLS: Candidates should have experience with Asana, Salesforce email automation, WordPress, social media platforms, Adobe, VEED, Vimeo, and other digital marketing tools mentioned in the qualifications and core skills sections.Adobe Applications: Candidates should possess intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications, particularly Adobe Express. While the role doesn't require advanced graphic design skills, candidates must be comfortable performing basic to intermediate edits, understanding design elements, and effectively communicating design-related requirements or feedback to the design staff.Frame.io and Figma: Applicants should have experience using Frame.io and Figma or similar editing/review collaboration platforms. The ideal candidate can efficiently upload, share, review, and provide feedback on content within the platform, ensuring streamlined collaboration between creative staff and stakeholders. Understanding version control and workflow management within Frame.io will be beneficial in this role.VEED and Vimeo: Proficiency in utilizing VEED and Vimeo is necessary for video uploading, basic editing, publishing, and managing video content, as well as understanding video performance through Vimeo's analytics. Candidates should be comfortable navigating the platform's features to maintain the organization's video library, optimize video content for SEO, and ensure content accessibility and compliance with privacy settings. Proficiency with end-to-end video content creation using VEED or a similar application is required. Overall, the Senior Marketing Specialist should have the capacity to leverage these tools effectively to collaborate with design and video production teams when necessary,Technically adept with platforms like Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Qualtrics; Familiarity with a WordPress environment a plus.Proficient in content creation and digital marketing, including social media, website copy, email marketing, collateral and company intranet.Demonstrated strategic and critical thinking using traditional marketing communications and digital media best practices, problem-solving, and customer-focused decision-making abilities.Strong interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills, emphasizing content creation, relationship-building, and team collaboration.Proficient analytical skills (e.g., Google Analytics) and an ability to assess campaign performance and generate actionable insights.TRAVEL: Frequent travel to other BHHC offices, conferences, education events, and field marketing events required.WHAT WE OFFER
