We are working with an established, nationally recognized Kansas City, Missouri plaintiffs’ firm that is expanding its Financial Fraud Class Action practice group within its commercial practice. The firm is offering an outstanding opportunity for attorney growth and development for two (2) great legal writers with two to five (2-5) years of experience and a passion for obtaining justice for persons harmed by the wrongful actions of others. The salary offered is $150,000- $195,000, but possibly as high as $225,000 or more for attorneys experienced with RICO suits, financial fraud actions, securities fraud litigation, shareholder derivative suits, and/or Qui tam actions. Bonuses are anticipated for these positions as cases conclude successfully. The attorneys hired will be eligible to be considered for partnership down the line at the firm. Candidates may be licensed to practice in any state of the United States. All candidates must submit a resume and several relevant writing samples.

REQUIREMENTS:Support firm partners in securities class action litigation as follows.Perform assiduous, careful research regarding all issues germane to the matters assigned.Prepare all writings necessary in all matters assigned, for example: complaints; discovery and discovery responses; motions and responses thereto (including pre and post-trial motions); legal memoranda and analyses; briefs (including post-trial and appellate briefs); and all other necessary litigation documents.Prepare trial notebooks, exhibits, and other materials requisite to trial and appeal.Perform all other legal work requested and/or required for the successful outcome of each case.

QUALIFICATIONS:Two to five (2 to 5) years experience in federal class action litigation, but zero to three (0-3) for persons with post graduate federal judicial clerkship experienceGreat legal research skillsGreat legal writing skills directed, for example, to drafting complaints, discovery and discovery responses, motions and responses thereto (including pre and post-trial motions), legal memoranda and analyses, briefs (including post-trial and appellate briefs), and all other necessary litigation documentsA passion for fighting financial fraudAbility to analyze complex legal issues and prepare complex legal casesPlaintiff side experience in class actions suits, commercial litigation, RICO cases, financial fraud litigation, securities fraud litigation, shareholder derivative suits, and/or Qui tam actionsJD degree and bar admission to any state of the U.S

OTHER DETAILS :Location:The client is in Kansas City, MO, but will consider remote possibilities, particularly for highly experienced applicants.Benefits:The firm offers a full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance. The firm covers up to ninety percent (90%) of the medical premium. The firm’s current medical provider appends many additional features to insurance benefits, including a virtual care provider, RX savings, weight loss programs, diabetes management, and mental health resources.The firm has a 401K plan for which attorneys are eligible after twelve (12) months of employment with an annual 3% safe harbor contribution from the firm.The firm pays for short-term and long-term disability, as well as basic life insurance.The firm offers HAS, flex spending, and dependent care FSA.The firm also offers supplemental Life/AD&D, Disability, Accident, and critical illness options that employees may purchase.Salary :$150,000-225,000+Billable Hours : 2000/yr
