A bit about this role:

So you have a favorite stacking chair and ruminate on color combinations? You astutely guide people to their ideal lounge piece? We are currently seeking a Designer + Furniture Specialist for our procurement division in our studio in downtown Seattle, and this just might be the role for you.

Furniture Specialists support the ancillary and accessory scope of RFPs and projects from ideation to final selection. The design team is also our vendors’ main point of contact, making this role essential to keeping our team up to date. The ideal candidate has a positive attitude, works well in an open environment, and is a motivated self-starter. The ability to prioritize and follow through with multiple tasks to completion is paramount to this position. A stellar work ethic and outstanding communication skills will set you apart from other candidates.

This is a hybrid position; you are required to be in the Belltown studio four days a week, with the option to work from home on Tuesdays. Initially you may be required to be in the studio five days a week for training purposes.

How you will contribute:

Collaborate with designers and clients to understand the project goals, functional requirements, budget and schedule.

Create furniture and accessory lookbooks for projects in early development

Conduct thorough assessments of client spaces if required to evaluate existing furniture, layout, and overall design aesthetics.

Review architectural plans and finish specifications to coordinate with furniture selections

Research and source custom product solutions and furniture pieces, considering factors such as style, comfort, durability, sustainability, and budget.

Build furniture and accessory packages with an understanding of budget pricing, specifications, ADA code compliance, and finish options

Create visuals and present to internal team, design partners and clients

Specify standard and custom selections using the appropriate software

Select and coordinate textiles and other finish samples

Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and manufacturers to obtain quotes and product samples

Conduct research and actively participate in internal meetings and product presentations to build and maintain knowledge of products, pricing, and lead times

Stay updated with the latest trends, materials, and advancements in furniture design to provide innovative and creative solutions to clients

Schedule vendor presentations and sample furniture deliveries Update objekts’ database and sample library

Assist with on-site installations as needed

Attend after-hours events and site visits as needed

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in design, fine art, or related field

One to five years of relevant work experience

Excellent communication, problem solving, and research skills

Knowledge of and passion for the furniture industry and interior design

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and InDesign, SketchUp, AutoCAD, CET

Ability to lift at least 35 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficiency in Photoshop and Enscape
