Overview
The Part-time Designer is an expert in custom space design with a vast knowledge of all storage and organization solutions and products sold at The Container Store. This position is a strong role model who displays excellent selling skills while maintaining a focus on exceptional customer service. Schedules can include daytime, evenings and weekends. This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities
Manages and maintains multiple, simultaneous customer projects through all phases with a high level of accuracy, timeliness and follow-up with consistent and concise communication to customers and othersCollaborates and communicates with the customer to design and present projects and customized plans in a clear and professional mannerCloses sales efficiently, builds repeat and referral businessConsistently maintains clear communication with Managers and Support Center partners to seamlessly complete projects from inquiry to installation to achieve sales goalsAs a brand ambassador, enthusiastically drives, motivates and supports all company initiatives by modeling professional and productive behaviors with store employees to achieve store and other goalsRemains current with The Container Store training, selling, product knowledge, promotions, processes and philosophies when interacting with customers, CSD, store employees and InstallationProficiently and consistently uses company tools and emailActively participates in the daily maintenance of custom spaces showroom and visual presentation of the storeHandles cash and other valuables appropriately and securelyMaintains a safe working and shopping environment, utilizing all available resources, ensuring safety and security of the employees, customers and propertyAssists customers with personal confidential information related to the Company credit card and application processConsistently arrives promptly to work the assigned scheduleResponsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer informationPerforms other requested tasks and dutiesWe believe in taking care of our team.

Qualifications
College degree preferred2-5 years sales and clientele experience preferredMaintains professional appearance and wears required dress code when representing The Container StoreKnowledge and passion for following trends in the custom spaces and retail industryStrong computer skills: proficiency in Outlook, Word and knowledge of Excel and Salesforce or Customer Relations Management toolsAbility to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe mannerIs committed to working scheduled hours and has the flexibility to work additional hours based on changing business needsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner, both orally and in writing, at all levels within and outside the organizationAbility to quickly separate the mission-critical tasks from the lower priority tasks; focuses on the most value-added projects of the day or weekFlexible, with a positive attitude and passion for knowledgeStrong time management and organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects at oncePossesses focused attention to detail while working quickly and accurately under pressureMakes strategic and effective decisions in the best interest of our customers and our company, taking care to objectively process informationAbility to work within and exemplify The Container Store brand which we describe as matchless, fun, authentic, team-focused and life-changingMust be at least 18 years of age
