Music Therapist

with the ability to sing and play a wide range of instruments. You will offer passive listening as well as participatory programs that include playing, singing, and creating music. This role involved multitasking by playing music, as you interact with patients, and make assessments.In this role, you will:Provide individual and group treatment for patients to facilitate their recovery and return to the community.Provide music therapy, psychotherapy and counseling.Curate an environment that fosters and enhances creativity, socialization, and promotes physical and mental health.Develop and conduct individual and group music therapy sessions to include long-term and short-term goals based on observation and referrals.Design and implement a variety of goal-oriented group sessions that utilize music and other creative modalities as effective therapeutic tools.Assist in operating, maintaining equipment and other materials/resources necessary for music therapy sessions.Plan and implement a structured experience to enhance patient self-awareness and self-expression.Encourage independent creative expression using music or related media.Meet all departmental requirements for chart recording, statistics, and other professional documentation and submit documents.Assess efficacy of sessions and make appropriate changes, as neededParticipates as a team member in providing continuing patients’ assessment and treatment.We require:Master’s degree in Music Therapy, Board Certified (MT-BC) and New York State License or limited permit eligibility to practice Music Therapy requiredWe offer exceptional benefits including medical, dental, pension and much more!Salary $28 per hourMusic Therapist, for immediate consideration please e-mail:BKREMPA@BRUNSWICKHOSPITALCENTER.ORGAn EOE m/f/d/v.
