The Research and Information Specialist provides comprehensive legal and business research and information governance support and services through various electronic and print resources. This position reports to the Director of Marketing and works with the Firm’s Library Committee.

Responsibilities:Perform legal and business research for lawyers and staff across multiple offices.Collaborate with practice groups and the marketing department on business development and competitive intelligence projects.Assemble, organize, and tag content for the experience database to aid in RFP responses and ranking submissions.Maintain knowledge and proficiency in online sources and the firm's internal knowledge management systems as well as proactively evaluate new resources and recommend renewal, cancellation, and investment.Present and communicate research findings clearly and concisely.Conduct new hire onboarding for legal and administrative personnelEvaluate, manage, maintain and recommend changes to the current law library's resources, including print, on-line, and other format materials for all offices.Provide litigation monitoring, docket searches, other tracking, and electronic news alerts.Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.Interface with vendor providers (Lexis/Nexis, Thomson-Reuters, etc.) for subscription management and evaluation of proposals.Participate via membership and other forms of engagement in law library associations, such as the American Association of Law Libraries, listservs and other organizations.

QualificationsMust have 3-5 years of related experience.Bachelor's Degree required (MLS preferred).Expertise and experience with a wide variety of free and fee-based business resources, subject-specific databases, and legal analytics tools, including Westlaw, Lexis, Bloomberg, Cheetah, PACER, Courtlink, D&B, and others.Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills.Familiarity and comfort with technology tools typically used in law firms, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, often with team members in other offices.Strong client service orientation.Willingness to assist with various administrative duties and projects as necessary.
