Clementine Paper makes fun, fashionable, and trend-driven paper and home products such as gift bags, gift wrap, greeting cards, notebooks, paper storage, candles, soap, etc for retailers such as Target and TJ Maxx. Our business is growing, and we are looking to build our team! We are looking for a talented Senior Designer who has a strong background in both illustration and graphic design for our Paper team.
The Senior Designer will be responsible for creating fresh, trend-right artwork and patterns, which they will apply to a variety of consumer products. We are looking for a self-starter who can work on projects from trend research and ideation to application to products, through to final production.
We use both Photoshop and Illustrator, so a proficiency in both is a must! Traditional hand painting/illustration and hand drawn typography skills are a definite plus, but digital creation of art is also acceptable.
This is the ideal position for someone who loves beautiful, decorative surface design, and enjoys seeing their designs come to life on 3-dimensional products! Our studio is small, the work is varied and interesting, and everyone pitches in on all aspects of a project.
Position Responsibilities:• Trend Research for Seasonal and Everyday themes. We design for most of the holidays, as well as more home décor based looks, for Adults all the way through to Teens and Baby• Artwork creation in a variety of styles. Typographic skills are also super helpful for this role.• Manipulate existing art to be applied to various paper and stationery products• Pattern repeats are often used on products, so understanding how to create them is important• Prepare production files for the factory, using Illustrator and Photoshop on a Mac platform• Create binders with color references and specs to communicate project requirements to factory• Checking pre-production and production samples for accuracy• Creating product mockups as needed
Qualifications:• 5-10 years of experience, preferably in consumer products.• Thorough knowledge of printing processes and requirements.• Highly proficient in Adobe Adobe Creative Suite on a Mac platform• Excellent communication skills• Must be self-motivated and be able to handle multiple projects at the same time.• Great can-do, positive attitude, ready to chip in on any project as needed.
