KLKN in Lincoln, NE is looking for a passionate and dynamic News Producer to create meaningful and memorable newscasts.We're looking for someone with a creative vision. The ideal candidate will know how to win the big story, own breaking news and display important weather information.The news producer is responsible for the creation of newscasts with fresh content, strong story flow and compelling supporting graphics.
Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Select, research, and write content for live newscastsProduce and booth assigned newscasts, breaking news and weather eventsExecute the NOW brand in all newscasts and on all platforms• Must be able to think strategically and motivate your team to execute your vision• Act with urgency and immediacy• Ensure story selection and placement fits newsroom standards for vision and growth• Understand our DMA, key target audiences and where they live• Produce engaging and error-free work• Get live and user-generated content to the newscast, sending push alerts to extend the reach of our work• Write for digital platforms
Qualifications:• Great communication skills• Comfortable, confident, and competent news judgment• A college degree in journalism, broadcasting or communication preferred
