Marketing and Communications Support Intern (September 16 - November 8)

Location: Chantilly, VA
Job type: Internship (Part-time - 20 hours a week and must be able to work Mornings Monday-Friday)
The 2024 Fall Internship will be part-time and have an 8-week term. Fall Internships begin Monday, September 16, 2024 and continue for eight weeks ending on Friday, November 8, 2024
Responsibilities:The Marketing intern will perform editorial calendar research, writing, design, and development (find key dates, trends, holidays, events, and industry opportunities including event and award opportunities), assist with Feature stories: Identification, research, writing, publishing, promotion, and metrics tracking (product marketing, internal communications, news releases, social media, customer stories). Provide visual and multimedia support (Contribute to graphic design work and have a strong understanding of our branding guidelines and standards). Brainstorm and contribute creative ideas to reach our target audiences, both internal and external. Assist with Organization and upkeep: Support keeping the team on track of pending deadlines, adhering to branding and messaging standards, and supporting internal request for marketing and communications support.

Skills needed:
- Pursing Bachelors or Masters degree in related discipline and 1 year demonstrated experience in school work, internships, or jobs (Past experience in a corporate communications team environment)
- Marketing and Communications experience is required (Samples will be requested)
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Social Media Management and Graphic Design
- Experience with Research and Writing
- Understanding of AP style
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with many competing priorities
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail
