The department provides emphasis in instrument, voice, and piano. This is a tenure-track, nine-month position that reports to the Dean of the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts and is slated to begin Fall 2024.ResponsibilitiesTeach courses in traditional, blended, and online formatsRecruit, employ, supervise, and evaluate facultyEngage faculty in shared governanceAcademically advise students and monitor academic advisingRecruit and retain studentsRecommend a schedule of classes to be offered in the department each semesterAdminister college policies and proceduresEnsure the curriculum is robust and relevantDevelop and assess program and student learning outcomesActively serve on college committeesReview and revise department catalog informationProject a professional, positive, and upbeat dispositionFoster and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues, departments, and divisions across campus and in the communityEngage in professional recitals/performancesUtilize and remain current with the college’s and instructional technologiesPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsA DMA or equivalent terminal degree from an accredited institution. ABD candidates will be considered.Must be able to teach instrumental courses (e.g., piano).Evidence of successful college teaching experience is required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.PreferredAt least three years of successful teaching experience at the college or university level.Experience teaching low brass applied lessonsApplication ProcessApplications
