Whether we are building schools to provide inspiring spaces for learning, roads to connect communities or hospitals to care for patients, it all contributes to our purpose – we build for a better society.Skanska's values — Be Better Together, Act Ethically and Transparently, Commit to Customer and Care for Life — are deeply engrained in how we work, which is why our values support and drive our D&I efforts.The Design Manager has responsibility for the overall administration and coordination of the design of the project for timely and profitable completion in a professional manner, ensuring the goals of the Owners, the Consultant and Skanska are met.Project Manager Required Qualifications:10+ years of progressively complex and responsible positions.Ability to track and manage multiple small tasks.Thorough understanding of industry.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong management skills.Functions effectively as part of a team.Ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients.Exhibits strong leadership qualities.Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.Excellent time management and organizational skills.Strong decision making/critical thinking skills; 100% onsite and/or in the office for meeting with leadership and project teams.Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent.What You'll Do:Maintain and Improve Owner/Consultant relations and support the Field Superintendent.Administrate "The Contract" and Performance Specifications where applicable.Administrate the Designer’s subcontract.Facilitate the full integration of the design team and trade partners.Provide accurate cost forecasts and projections.Review and Assess payment applications for consultants.Assist Project teams in safety, quality control and constructability.Develop accurate and meaningful schedules/enforce schedule.Manage project design coordinators staff.Train and develop project design coordinators staff.Improve methods, prioritize time.Lead and Guide Team Meetings during design.Communicate effectively with Owner/Consultants.Cooperate and work with others.Understand technical building deliveries and work with the team to develop execution plans.Bring cost and constructability feedback to the team in a regular and supportive manner in keeping with the timeline of design decisions.Come work with us and join a winning team!As a Skanska community, our values ground us, and our diversity of experience propels us forward.
