Find out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.Reporting into the EVP - Corporate Strategy, the VP - Communications is responsible for developing, implementing, leading, and executing a broad range of pillar-wide communications strategies.

This is a broad role that will span the breadth of strategic and tactical corporate communications including thought leadership, client development, growth enablement, pitching and activating content, crisis communications, executive communications, marketing communications, and internal communications. There will also be an opportunity for this person to support various external communications, strategic media relations, and PR initiatives for the pillar.

The ideal candidate is both highly collaborative and independently capable, equal parts big-picture strategy and ground-level execution, and loves to put pen to paper on a consistent basis.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration an average of 3 days/week. The role is based out of our New York City office located at 375 Hudson Street; all candidates must be local to the NYC metro area and willing to commute into that office on a regular basis.

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage internal communications efforts to advance agency culture and morale and inform our employee population.

Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to develop and drive strategic communications plans and metrics.

Write content for a variety of platforms including speeches, senior leadership messages, press releases, Q&A, key messages, award entries, and blog and social media posts.

Develop and promote a unique “brand story” for the pillar in order to promote PDX and its brands as industry leaders as well as an employment destination for top talent.

Serve as a key partner for Business Development, Growth, and Analyst Relations teams in communicating our story across current and prospective clients.

Own and maintain an advanced KPI framework that leads to growth impact rather than just impressions.

Edit, proofread, and advise on agency communications prior to distribution.

Drive and elevate external visibility for the pillar and our thought leaders via submissions for speaking engagements, industry honors, editorial opportunities, etc.

Pitch and activate content as well as partner with other Comms and Strategy leads to help shape the strategy behind it.

Apply a consultative approach to drive external, media relations, and PR strategies and tactics for multiple agency brands in partnership with brand marketing and communications leads.

Establish and grow relationships with key members of the press, media outlets, and social platforms both inside and outside of the industry.

Manage and develop team members and interns.

Qualifications:

15+ years of experience crafting, leading, and driving holistic complex corporate communications strategy for a large, matrixed organization, preferably within the advertising industry.

Experience collaborating with executive leadership teams and senior management to develop, evaluate, assess, and execute communication strategies that will help advance the reputation, reinforce culture, and drive growth for the agency.

Exceptional written communication skills with an ability to succinctly craft pitches, bylines, articles, press releases, memos, speeches, blog posts, emails, and other communications in a variety of tones and voices.

Experience leading internal and corporate communications functions for an organization.

Experience supporting external communications, marketing communications, PR, and/or media relations.

Experience building and cultivating relationships with key stakeholders and partners across different business units of the organization, in the broader advertising industry and across the general business/technology space.

A desire to serve in a player-coach capacity as both a strategic leader as well as the principal corporate communications writer within the pillar.

Outstanding verbal communication skills with proven experience presenting effectively to varied audiences.

An ability to understand, interpret, and assess the impact of potential communication strategies within the industry and across the larger business community.

Extensive knowledge of industry trends and the current business, economic, and political climate.

A high degree of business and political savvy with an ability to navigate complex organizational structures, understand and prioritize multiple concurrent needs, and develop relationships with executives at PDX, within agency brands, and across Groupe.

Prior experience managing and mentoring direct reports.

A portfolio of writing samples may be requested as a part of the hiring process.

Compensation Range: $143,000 - $205,500 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
