The Pipe Welder is responsible for repairing, building, and installing piping systems with welding equipment. The Pipe Welder will be expected to measure, cut, and use welding tools to cut and alter metal materials for repairs and new projects.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Interprets isometric drawings and determines which specifications to apply.Operates hand and power tools common to welding such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arcHold, clamp heat-bend, tack-weld or bolt component partsIgnites and installs torches and beveling machines within specificationsWelds using stainless steel, carbon steel and duplex materialsMaintains machines and inspects equipment to identify possible problemsAttends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by departmentOther duties as assignedWhat You Will Need (minimum qualifications):Interprets isometric drawings and determines which specifications to apply.Operates hand and power tools common to welding such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arcHold, clamp heat-bend, tack-weld or bolt component partsIgnites and installs torches and beveling machines within specificationsWelds using stainless steel, carbon steel and duplex materialsMaintains machines and inspects equipment to identify possible problemsAttends training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by departmentOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities RequiredKnowledge of industrial construction and characteristics of all equipment functions and operations related to the positionKnowledge of proper use of equipment such as welder machine, drill press and power toolsKnowledge of Hazardous Materials and Safety Regulations and industry practices related to equipment use and operationAbility to use time and equipment efficiently in order to complete projects on timeAbility to communicate effectively in a team environmentAbility to handle stress and maintain positive attitude in difficult or challenging situationsAbility to attend training sessions, seminars and appropriate educational classes required by departmentAbility to perform all work in a safe manner that meets company and client standardsAbility to adapt to changing work environment and conditionsComputer skills commensurate with program and job applicationsDisclaimer:
