Job Summary:

The Senior Social Media Manager is an exciting opportunity for an experienced storyteller / social media strategist to develop and deploy the most effective ways to showcase the thought leadership and value that exists within SHIs subject matter experts and connect it with target audiences through social media.

This individual will lead the continued expansion of SHIs social media audience by helping conceive, develop and deliver new, original content across all SHI social media platforms while empowering fellow SHI employees to do the same. The successful candidate will be able to help develop content that fosters dynamic engagement within the marketplace, as well as current and future customers, partners, accredited media, current employees, and new recruits.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional, able to proactively recognize and approach thought-leaders throughout SHI, pitching ideas and soliciting both written and video participation from SHI advocates who understand the value we provide to customers. The chosen candidate will have (or demonstrate an ability to develop) a practical understanding of the IT industry, allowing them to identify ways to promote consistent, professional and engaging social media content to IT and procurement leaders.

Given the visibility of this position, the right individual must be both quick-witted and risk-averse, ridiculously responsible, empathetic, opportunistic, and level-headed in the face of adversity. They must command an executive presence while simultaneously communicating in an inviting, friendly and fun corporate voice.

Working with colleagues across the SHI Marketing Department and beyond, the Senior Social Media Manager will primarily conceive and support SHIs organic (non-sponsored) social media content including:

  1. Brand positioning and thought leadership to engage current customers and attract new followers
  2. Company news and exciting information about new products, services and accolades
  3. Event promotion
  4. Talent Acquisition
  5. Keeping SHI employees excited and actively engaged in the promotion of SHI through social media.

This is a senior individual contributor role offering the unique opportunity to work closely with talented creatives, marketing leadership and industry experts to support SHIs business goals. The successful candidate will be the guardian of what good looks like on social media, especially LinkedIn. They will define and then govern SHIs social strategy. Finally, the candidate will educate colleagues and stakeholders on social media best practices and empower all SHI employees to present a cohesive community experience for both existing and new followers.

This position will report to the SHI Austin or Somerset, NJ office location and reports to the Sr. Director of Communications and Marketing.

Responsibilities:
  • Defining, developing and executing social media strategy supporting SHI Marketing priorities
  • Managing multiple social media profiles in support of different business units
  • Collaborating with teammates, leaders and other departments to develop creative and fun social media content to support ALL SHI Marketing deliverables (brand, blogs, events, campaigns, e-books, videos, SHI.com, etc.)
  • Constant monitoring of chatter on SHIs social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, etc.) to mitigate risk to SHI and/or engage and grow an audience.
  • Creation of social content, community management, amplification, customer service response and lead generation.
  • Analysis of social media reporting and interpreting proper metrics that track and measure the effectiveness of all social media activities and adjusting publication strategy accordingly.
  • Growing employee advocacy of SHIs social media content by evangelizing SHIs social media content to new and existing employees on social media best-practices and empowering them to support content.
  • Ensuring that no social media communications compromise SHIs impeccable reputation.
  • Minimal travel as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Marketing, Communication and/or Social Media leadership experience
  • An established social media brand
  • Advanced understanding of the language of social media, including #Hashtags and other mechanisms to drive audience growth and participation

Additional Information:
  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $80,000 - $115,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
