Senior Corporate Counsel, AWS Sales and Marketing Global Services

DescriptionWe are looking for a talented and experienced commercial lawyer to fill the position of Senior Corporate Counsel to support the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Sales and Marketing organization. This Senior Corporate Counsel will be part of the AWS Sales and Marketing legal team and will serve as a trusted advisor to the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) organization, a fast-growing business that leads AWSs most strategic commercial customer engagements across the world.To be successful in this role, you will need to be inquisitive and scrappy, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and thrive working in a team-oriented environment. You will also need to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations and be adept at driving consensus across stakeholders.Key job responsibilitiesKey responsibilities in supporting GDSP include negotiating complex cloud services agreements, advising on regulatory and compliance issues and the launches of new products and tools, and innovating to modernize and scale our legal support. This role will also participate in other AWS legal projects, including managing issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and driving simplification efforts.Basic Qualifications- 10+ years of legal experience- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent- Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalentPreferred Qualifications- Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent- Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent- In-house experience at a technology or internet company.- Ability to set, drive strategy, and provide guidance to the team.- Ability to manage multiple projects at once, to exercise sound judgment in mission-critical situations, and to work cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $164,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market.
