Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Fire Sprinkler Designer to our team in Auburn, ME. As a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will be responsible for creating detailed plans and specifications for fire sprinkler systems in various types of buildings, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Your primary duties will include analyzing building blueprints, designing efficient and compliant fire sprinkler systems, and preparing necessary documentation for project approval and execution. You will also collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure the designs meet all local, state, and national fire safety codes and standards. Proficiency in design software, excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of fire protection systems are essential for success in this role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Reads and interprets construction documents such as drawings, specifications, project manuals, and project schedulesPrepares fire protection shop drawings, requests for information, material data submittals, hydraulic calculations, field installation drawings, as-built drawings, and operations and maintenance manuals in compliance with fire protection codes and standardsPrepares material lists for fire protection system components for installation (including pre-fabrication lists)Surveys new and existing buildings and fire sprinkler systems for accurate designsWorks closely with the design manager, project managers, superintendents, and foremen to provide deliverables in an efficient and effective mannerMinimum Qualifications:

Good interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsStrong customer service skillsModerate math and computer skillsTime management, organizational, and interpersonal skillsEducation and/or Experience:

High school diploma / GED required2+ years of fire sprinkler design experience preferredHydraCAD experience preferredDegree in Computer-Aided Design, Construction Management, Project Management Engineering, Fire Science, or a related field preferredCertificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Valid driver's license requiredNICET Certification (Water-based systems layout) and/or NFPA Certification (Water-based system professional) preferredPhysical Demands and Work Environment:
