ABOUT THE POSITION

:

Purpose:

To manage the student ecumenical journal hearhere

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following are the essential duties and responsibilities the incumbent must be able to perform.

Plan and facilitate weekly editorial meetings and joint work sessions with the design team. Oversees proofing and physical production of the journal, collaborate in layout with the managing designer. Write at least one piece per semester and provide final editing and oversight of all pieces prior to publication. Train incoming editorial members in editing and writing as needed. Communicate with the chaplains, faculty, and manage collaboration with other journals. Oversee organizational finances and assist the director of operations in managing the club budget. Attend weekly executive meetings and uphold other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent planning, communication, and interpersonal skills Flexible, organized, creative, energetic spirit Experience working with undergraduate and graduate student population Capable of working both independently and as part of a team Possess the ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments Understanding of how social media can be used in the promotion of events and services Other required knowledge, skills, or competencies Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are preferred: Experience working on a journal. Experience working with diverse student populations, including students of color, students with disabilities, low-income and/or first-generation students, international students, members of the LGTBQ+ community, etc. Knowledge about interfaith resources and best practices.

Work Schedule: The regular hours for this position are up to 9 hours per week. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the organization or business unit.

COMPENSATION

Pay: $16.00 per hour.
