The Structural Designer performs assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities, requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering skills. Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
Using prescribed methods, a Structural Designer performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer. A Structural Designer applies standard practices and techniques in specific situations, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Structural calculations as directedPlan layout and detail development as directedDevelop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software (AutoCAD/Revit)Approval drawing reviewVery limited client communication as directedGradual evolution to the design and drawing assembly for complete buildings of moderate scaleThe statements made in the job description are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. Education and Experience:
