UI/UX Intern
is primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of our new manufacturing ERP (enterprise resource planning) system. It is desired that the candidate has experience in UI/UX design as well as business analysis and requirement research skills in order to develop requirements and agile stories involving UI. The candidate should also have strong visual design skills to translate requirements into polished design artifacts for our engineers. This position will be an opportunity for a candidate to work on one of our company's most important projects end-to-end and directly contribute to it from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Business Analyst (BA) team to produce creative and functional design solutions.Work with other UI/UX designers to create UI mockups for web and mobile features.Research and suggest best practices for designing for our different user groups.View requirements from the user’s perspective in order to consult the team.Take ownership of the design of various sections of new applications.Conduct user research to discover areas for improving our software's UX.Extract insights from user research to inform design decisions.Maintain and advocate for a design system that is consistent and functional across all platforms.Produce requirements and user stories to develop new areas of the application.Participate in design workshops and syncs with other designers and engineers.Perform QA/testing on implementations that you were directly involved in designing to ensure features have been developed as intended.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role (0-3 years).Experience and knowledge of the UI design software Figma.Academic knowledge of design fundamentals and process.Strong desire to explore the software development design world.Good collaboration skills to brainstorm best solutions with other team members.Ability to understand and consider ROI in designing software features.
