This is your opportunity to lead Fetch’s design practice, owning UX research and design of Fetch’s front-end applications that connect our operators, drivers, and customers, making Fetch services possible.Fetch is a venture-backed startup solving the problem of package deliveries to multifamily apartment communities. Packages are sent to our local facility, and we communicate directly with residents to coordinate secure and convenient direct-to-door delivery. Fetch is currently operating in cities from coast-to-coast with substantial growth on the horizon.We tackle exciting problems on a daily basis: from managing the intricacies of a gig labor force to solving complex logistical issues revolving around receiving, organizing, dispatching, and delivering millions of packages. We’re currently focused on growing our doorstep services offering for multifamily communities beyond package delivery to make renting a better experience for all. It’s an especially exciting time to join our team as we bring these new direct to consumer services to market.What you'll do:
As the Director of Product Design, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our products from the warehouses where we induct, organize, and dispatch packages- to helping drivers navigate complex building architecture- culminating in the holistic customer experience we deliver with our doorstep services. You’ll oversee design process, strategy, and execution across our warehouse, driver, and customer facing applications. You’ll lead our design team as a cohesive part of our larger technology organization, working side by side with product management, engineering, and product marketing.We are looking for someone who has a design thinking mindset, challenges assumptions, recognizes opportunities for innovation and values collaboration in creating better products. You will need to develop an intimate understanding of our customers, the intricacies of Fetch’s last mile operations, and tactfully soliciting consistent feedback will be imperative for success in this role. Our Product and Engineering teams work directly with our users, often working in Fetch facilities and delivering packages on the road to put our solutions to the test. You’ll need a willingness to get your hands dirty, as a player-coach in a growing organization, and carefully balance product initiatives with design ops functions.What you'll need:
8+ years of experience in an individual contributor role on a product or design team, at least 3 years in a leadership capacityProven ability to lead and inspire design teams, with experience managing designers of varying levelsA strong portfolio showcasing a range of user-centered design work, including web and mobile applicationsExperience working closely with product and engineering leadership in roadmap developmentDemonstrated ability in developing scalable design processes in a growing organization, including design reviews, handoffs to development, and collaboration with other departmentsExperience in standing up design systems from 0 to 1Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and best practicesExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders at all levelsPassion - we are a close knit team who loves building cool productsHumility - we are believers in making decisions together and learning from one anotherHumor - we don't take ourselves too seriouslyAdaptation - we open-mindedly address new challenges and always learningWhat we'll deliver on:
