At E2, we value safety, innovation, and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.Overview E2 is looking for a senior-level Distribution Designer to join our team in the greater Portland or Salt Lake City area to support our major electric utility client. The successful candidate will perform field surveys of existing utility poles and underground vaults, collect data from digital records, and apply company, industry, and regulatory standards and specifications to plan the construction, relocation, installation, and/or maintenance of facilities and equipment associated with overhead and underground electrical equipment and utility infrastructure. The position will work under the direction of the Team Lead and will report directly to the Department Manager.Responsibilities

Work with engineering and design teams to produce and/or review overhead and underground distribution design packages, maintaining industry standards and providing technical expertise.Produce and/or review overhead and underground distribution design packages, including construction drawings, materials inventory, voltage drop calculations, environmental/FAA/permitting releases, easements, fielding photos, and GIS maps.Understand and apply knowledge of overhead or underground electric utility distribution designs and construction standards to produce reliable designs.Review design documents and drawings for accuracy and completeness, addressing discrepancies.Provide clear comments and justifications for design deficiencies.Review revised designs for incorporation of comments.Identify trends or new issues for management review with potential solutions.Ensure compliance with applicable company and client standards.Provide technical support to junior designers.Contribute to department and company goals.Participate in special projects as required.Qualifications

Required:Associate degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology from an accredited college/university or similar degree.7+ years of experience in a utility distribution planning function.Excellent knowledge of electrical distribution systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook).Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Preferred:Minimum six (6) years' experience with distribution design and construction standards for PacifiCorp.Minimum six (6) years' experience performing Pole Loading Analyses.Benefits
