Freelance Apparel Designer - Hawaiian Patterns

We are seeking a talented and creative graphic Prints/Patterns Apparel Designer to join our client's dynamic design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fashion trends, color theory, and print design, and previous experience designing Hawaiian patterns! This role requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate creative concepts into stunning print and pattern designs for apparel.

Responsibilities:

Develop original and innovative all-over print and pattern repeatable designs that align with the brand's aesthetic and target market.Research and analyze current fashion trends, market demands, and competitor analysis to identify design opportunities.Collaborate with the design team to develop print and pattern concepts for various apparel categories.Create digital artwork and illustrations using industry-standard design software (Adobe Illustrator).Prepare print and pattern designs for production, including technical specifications and colorways.Stay up-to-date with industry advancements in print and pattern design techniques.Participate in design reviews and provide input on design direction.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field2+ years of patterns and prints apparel design experienceStrong proficiency in pattern drafting and grading techniquesExcellent knowledge of garment construction and sewing methodsProficiency in the Adobe Creative SuitePrevious Hawaiian pattern experience a huge plus!
