Corporate Communications Manager
who will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering an integrated corporate communication strategy aligned to Element Biosciences’ mission, strategy and key business priorities. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about partnering with an Executive team, Marketing, People Team and other functional teams to inform, engage, and inspire employees, while also advancing the company's external reputation through proactive public and media relations efforts. We are looking for candidates with a solid background in Life Sciences. This role will be a San Diego based role .If you possess the following and want to make a meaningful impact, we invite you to explore this role.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:With internal and external marketing teams, identify PR and communication opportunities and coordinate execution. Develop an external editorial calendarDraft and distribute engaging communications materials, including press releases and media pitches, briefing notes, speeches, presentations, FAQs, social media posts, and web copySupport company leadership with external communications, including developing thought leadership contentCoordinate and support PR agency activities for announcements and campaignsDevelop and execute a proactive public and media relations strategy to strengthen the Element brand and reputation and raise awareness of the company, our mission and our innovation pipelineContribute to the global communications team’s editorial calendar; flag any proactive media opportunities overall; align for consistency and messaging alignmentBuild an internal editorial calendar for internal communications, including employee stories, feature stories and internal weekly newsletterAct as communications business partner, optimizing communications to ensure transparency and open dialogue and supporting hiring goalsWork with Talent team on communications initiatives to position Element as an employer of choiceCraft internal communications materials, including employee emails, Element intranet and Microsoft Teams communications channelsEducation and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communication, English or a related discipline5+ years of experience in communications (internal and/or external), preferably in-house at a global public company; Life Sciences experience is a plusDemonstrated leadership presence and experience advising and fostering trusted relationships with C-level leadersDemonstrated track record of success in media relations, crisis communications and reputation managementExcellent written and verbal communicator, with a keen attention to detail and accuracy, who can tailor messages to ensure relevance to a diverse set of internal and external audiencesProven ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a high sense of urgencyStrategic thinker who is passionate about developing and executing integrated communication plans that drive business objectivesAbility to see the bigger picture and “connect dots” across the organization to maximize impactCross-functional experience with the ability to influence and collaborate with multiple stakeholders at all levelsA track record of prioritizing and executing competing priorities effectivelyStrong global mindset and experience working effectively in multinational organizationsPhysical Requirements:Frequently moves boxes weighing up to 20 poundsLocation:San DiegoTravel:Up to 10% internationally or as neededJob Type:Full-time/ExemptBase Compensation Pay Range:$119,000 - $156,000In addition to base compensation noted above, you will be eligible for stock options, discretionary annual bonus, no cost health insurance plans, 401k with company match, and flexible paid time off.Please note: Base compensation will depend on multiple factors, including geographic location, qualifications, and experience.We foster an environment such that all people are afforded the freedom to pursue their passions without regard to race, color, religion, national or ethnic origin, gender (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, veteran status or any other characteristics protected by law.
