Amazon Games is looking for a Senior Art Director to partner with us as we build exciting new multiplayer games that everyone can enjoy. You will help us establish an entirely new category for gaming and should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects. In this role, you’ll lead thinking on what kind of great games will be best for all kinds of players. You will assess the quality of content, help game development teams create distinct art styles for Amazon customers, and evaluate overall user experience.

You’ll work with world-class third-party game developers to assess and design great exclusive content. You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and will collaborate with engineering, marketing, and other stakeholders to resolve ambiguity and balance competing priorities. This is a unique opportunity to partner with game development teams to strengthen and enrich art direction, worlds and characters designs.Key job responsibilitiesProvide creative vision and guidance on elements that shape the overall style of games and gameplay across characters, environments, items, equipment or gear – as well campaign creative for related marketing materialsBe part of a multi-disciplinary brain that works primarily with external developers to guide Amazon thinkingTranslate stakeholder feedback into clear visual directions for external agencies and developing partnersHelp raise and set new standards for the highest-quality execution of in-game art for our games at key moments of their development cyclesBe able to take the high strategic view as well as dive deep and execute great game art to lead by exampleProvide direction on concept art to be adapted and thoughtfully carried across OOH, Social & Digital in a 360-campaign approachEvaluate challenges to effectively communicate and/or escalate guidelines, accountability and resolution progress to partners and leadershipLeverage data-driven customer insights and deep knowledge of formats and placements to make creative decisionsRemain up to date with products and services across the game industry, and also within Amazon, Twitch, and Amazon Game Studios.Basic Qualifications10+ years of Games or Interactive Entertainment industry experience, launching games for wide audiences, casual and coreExpertise in game development toolset and pipelinesExperience working with third-party developers to build great contentExperience creating and documenting high-quality visual guidelines and development strategiesHas shipped games across a variety of platforms on time and on budgetA portfolio that demonstrates process and capabilities in crafting compelling game visualsExperience communicating with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and describe productsPreferred QualificationsExperience presenting to all levels – from senior to executiveBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceExperience creating end-to-end game experiences from the concept stage to shippingExperience working with third-party IPsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExperience collaborating across multiple stakeholdersExperience working with digital asset management tools and leading process improvementsExperience building games in a wide variety of genres, for a variety of platforms, including PC and console.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
