JOB SUMMARY

Essential Functions/Duties As a Video and Voice Communications (VVC) Engineer, responsibilities include:Designing, developing, and implementing solutions for video acquisition, transmission, and processingCollaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into efficient and effective video and voice solutionsDesigning, developing, and implementing network solutions for VCC systemsDebugging and troubleshooting VVC systems issues to ensure optimal system performanceUnderstanding software applications and scripts that automate media processing and analysisConducting analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in VVC systemsParticipating in system testing, validation, and verification activitiesDocumenting system designs, procedures, and technical specificationsStaying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends related to Video and Voice communications systems and distribution Desired RequirementsKnowledge of Video (analog and digital), cameras, and video encoder/decoder processFamiliarity with video capture equipment (cameras) installation, signal propagation, and RF principlesFamiliarity with Video Measurement and Transmission Standards (DVI, MPEG, HDMI, SDI)Familiarity with Air Traffic Control tower style voice communications systems equipment and digital voice processing techniquesExperience with troubleshooting video and voice communications over network transportDatabase experience (SQL/MMSQL/MySQL)Knowledge of Timing distribution standards NTP/IRIG/PTPKnowledge of Ethernet networking conceptsAbility to write PowerShell scripts for MS WindowsAbility and willingness to climb towers for equipment installation and maintenancePrior experience or internships in a related field are a plus Requirements Education, Technical, and Work Experience A Bachelor of Science in engineering from an ABET-accredited academic institution and 14 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited Master of Science in engineering and a minimum of 10 years of related engineering experience, or an accredited doctorate degree in engineering and a minimum of eight years of related engineering experience are required for this positionIn addition, an Engineer V must possess the following qualifications:Well-established, substantial, professional reputation in one or more of the principal technical disciplines of the companyDemonstrated ability to direct senior technical personnel in project assignments involving research, development, integration, and sustainment of complex systems or processesWorking knowledge of computer systems and computer-based engineering toolsSuperior communications skills, both verbal and written, in day-to-day project activities as well as in briefing customers and in writing reports and proposalsPlanning/organizational skills and the ability to work under deadlines BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision Insurance
