Job Description

The Social Media Team Lead will contribute to ONC's mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by overseeing the ONC Social Media Team. The Social Media Team Lead will delegate tasks to interns and volunteers on the team, assigning responsibilities based on their strengths and expertise. The lead will provide guidance and support to both team leads and interns, ensuring they have the necessary resources and assistance to excel in their roles. The Social Media Team Lead will actively coach interns and volunteers, fostering their professional development and helping them navigate their responsibilities within the department. The Social Media Team Lead is responsible for developing social media strategies aligned with the organization's mission, goals and target audience. They must define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of social media efforts. This lead is also responsible for overseeing the creation and curation of engaging and relevant content for our social media platforms, ensuring consistency in brand voice, messaging, and visual aesthetics across all of our channels, developing and maintaining a content calendar outlining the timing and frequency of social media posts. One of the tasks of maintaining the content calendar is scheduling and publishing content in a timely manner.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. The duration of this internship can be as short as a semester or as long as a year or more and can be extended. Preferably, this leader will commit to 6 months.

Responsibilities:Oversee the Social Media Team at ONC.Delegate tasks to interns and volunteers based on their strengths and expertise.Provide guidance and support to interns and volunteers.Develop social media strategies aligned with the organization's mission, goals, and target audience.Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure social media success.Oversee the creation and curation of engaging and relevant content for social media platforms.Ensure consistency in brand voice, messaging, and visual aesthetics across channels.Develop and maintain a content calendar for social media posts including scheduling and publishing content in a timely manner.Stay on top of trending topics across all social platforms.Effectively communicate with other ONC team members (Slack, email, Zoom).Qualifications

The Social Media Team Lead should have the following skills, education, and experience:

Working towards a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, and/or related fields.Experience with common social media platforms (Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Linkedin etc.) required.Understanding of influencers, marketing, branding, and content creation is crucial.Google Workspace experience preferred.Canva experience preferred.Adobe Suite experience a plus.Responsive, consistent, and effective communicator, even during conflict.A self-starter who is willing to take initiative and complete tasks.Ability to work remotely and on their own schedule in order to make deadlines.Ability to attend the Organization-Wide meetings every other week.Ability to lead weekly Social Media Team meetings.Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
