Graphic Designer

POSITION SUMMARY

The Graphic Designer will play a key role in shaping the visual identity of the PHLCVB brand across various platforms to support the organization and to promote the City of Philadelphia as a global destination for meetings and conventions, sporting events, international travel, and group travel. This role requires a highly creative individual who can translate complex ideas into compelling designs.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCreate compelling designs that effectively communicate the PHLCVB brand.Collaborate closely with the Digital Design Specialist on all design needs.Design and develop a wide range of sales and marketing materials, including publications, brochures, sales sheets, tradeshow booths, signage, printed display materials, pop-up banners, presentation templates, proposals, invitations, e-newsletters, email communications, digital signage and toolkits, social media graphics, website graphics and other web-based tools.Ensure consistent application of the organization's brand in all design projects, while also contributing to the evolution of the brand's aesthetic.Actively contribute to creative brainstorming sessions and team meetings, offering design strategies for campaigns and sales support.Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, from concept through execution, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.Working with the Senior Marketing Manager, support and collaborate with external design agencies. Ensure brand consistency.Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools and technologies, and proactively suggest new ideas and approaches to elevate the organization's design efforts.Oversee organization and storage of all design files for the company.Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

BS, BA or BFA in Graphic Design or closely related field from a university/or college preferred; Minimum of 5 years' related work experience.

Required Skills:

5+ years of graphic design experience, working within a corporate, in-house design department or agency, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work.Ability to interface with internal departments to achieve goals.Excellent organizational skills, creative thinking, and the ability to meet deadlines.Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.Self-starter who isn't afraid to craft their own concepts and advocate for their adoption.Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.).Expertise in large-scale print projects (trade shows, billboards) including design, production and packaging files.Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.PowerPoint as well as Word and Excel.Proficiency in web design and HTML developmentUI/UX design and motion graphics/video production a plus.Passion for design and a drive to stay ahead of industry trends.Prior destination marketing and knowledge of Philadelphia a plus.
