The Oncology BU Capabilities & Operations Team is responsible for leading strategy and maximizing effectiveness across all of U.S (United States). Oncology as it relates to the following focus areas: Advising, Congresses, Sponsorships, GPO Execution, and External Consulting arrangements. This group works collaboratively with other U.S. Commercial Oncology teams to establish and manage strategies derived from brand plans, create annual plans related to the above focus areas, and work alongside AbbVie internal functions to support flawless execution.

The Marketing Manager, Oncology Business Unit - Congress Team, position will have responsibility for leading Congress, Sponsorship Strategy, and Planning across the AbbVie Oncology Solid Tumor Portfolio of assets in collaboration with functional partners. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with U.S. Solid Tumor Oncology Brands, Internal and External Agencies, Managed Health Care / GPO, Medical, Market Analytics and Business Intelligence (MABI), Legal, Office of Ethics and Compliance (OEC), Global Marketing and Commercial Operations (GMCO), Patient Advocacy, Field Operations, Field Sales, and Business Services teams in order to plan, execute, and create materials for various marketing-sponsored meetings. This position will be leveled at Grade 19

Key Responsibilities Include:Collaborate in the integrated strategy and annual planning process for Congresses and Sponsorships related to cross-franchise brand plansManage the cross-franchise Congress and Sponsorship master calendar to ensure timelines, logistics and attendance objectives are met for national and marketing-sponsored meetingsEngage with cross-functional teams to execute upon Congress and Sponsorship objectives (e.g., Society of Gynecological Oncology, Oncology Nurse Society, Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology, and other major Congresses which may be prioritized)Analyze and manage Sponsorship opportunities for maximum return on investmentCollaborate with brand teams on maximizing presence and delivering on Field Sales representative-delivered materials for regional / local conferences and advocacy meetingsManage and oversee the tactical execution and accountability of key tactics, including review, approval, and delivery of derivative materials (e.g., booths, panels, materials, sponsorship art and messages)Oversee approval of Statements of Work / Purchase Orders, including coordination with relevant vendors and other logistics, as requiredEnsure adherence to relevant policies and procedures related to planning and executing Congresses and Sponsorships, in collaboration with OECLead Oncology BU Capabilities & Operations governance processes for Congresses and Sponsorships, track relevant metrics, and develop reporting / present outputs to Oncology BU Capabilities & Operations teamsContinually contribute to process and capability innovation through assessments and recommendationsStay current on all processes and procedures related to Congresses and SponsorshipsContinually seek out best practices from other Abbvie franchisesAbility to travel up to 20%Qualifications

Required:

Bachelors degree required5+ years relevant marketing experienceExcellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skillsExcellent diplomacy and facilitation skills; ability to influence without authorityComputer skills, MS Office and third-party software as neededSolid business acumen, including budget managementPreferred:

Knowledge of AbbVie policies, procedures, culture, and other brand team operationsKnowledge and experience in solid tumor markets and overall oncology therapeutic areasPharmaceutical industry experience preferred (Client or Agency)Congress and Sponsorship management experience desired (Client or Agency)Continuous Improvement and/or Change Management skillsAdditional Information
