The Communications Project Manager is a grant-funded position for the Tow Youth Justice Institute (TYJI) at the University of New Haven. The Communications Project Manager will support the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives to raise public awareness of TYJI's work and help align communications strategies with development needs by executing and monitoring communications strategies and managing related projects. This position will work with other University departments and collaborate with internal and external partners. This position is also a supervisory position of the Communications Project Coordinator and a student intern(s).

You will;'Develop communication plans that highlight and create visibility for all programs and projects of the TYJIDevelop strategies to enhance current communication channels and make recommendations for new areas to expand communicationsManage Project Coordinator in assignments with all channels of communication, including:

Newsletters, Websites, Brochures, BlogsPress releaseseNews contentIssues briefsOp-Ed piecesMedia advisoriesSocial Media

Organize and manage in-person and virtual events engaging internal and external audiencesManage and maintain websitesEnsure management and execution of project plans in their work and the Project Coordinator's workPlan stakeholder gatherings, press conferences, meetings, and other promotional events to help keep the institute top of mindTracking and reporting analytics on marketing and communications campaigns including social media platforms and online presenceAssess and report on the effectiveness of communication strategiesResearch strategies to expand reach and additional audiencesOversee brand managementStay up to date on industry trends and make recommendations for adjustments to communications strategies and practicesTrack projects and media exposureConduct research on potential funders for alignment with our missionAssist with other external and internal communications duties as neededCollaborate and work with TYJI faculty, staff and students

You need:

5+ years experience in a communications or marketing role or related experienceBachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications or related subject/concentrationExperience with Adobe Photoshop, In-design, Illustrator and Premier ProExhibits proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Power Point, Excel and OutlookExcellent time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlinesAn analytical mind and ability to think creativelyExceptional writing and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of email marketing software such as Constant Contact or a similar programPossesses knowledge of effective marketing strategiesDemonstrates strong editing skillsCommunicates clearly and effectivelyDemonstrates knowledge of website design and html codeAbility to create visually compelling presentationsKnowledge of video production and editingDemonstrated experience in project coordination and project managementAbility to prioritize tasks and multi-taskExcellent problem-solving skills and good judgmentAbility to work independently and as part of a team
