WHO WE ARE:

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Graphic Designer and Production Coordinator to join our growing creative team. In this role, you will work closely with the Graphic Design Team, Buying and Merchandising Teams and Vendor Direct Team to produce high quality and trend right graphics for our apparel business. You will be responsible for creating graphics on a weekly basis based on sales, seasonality, holidays, pop culture moments and newly acquired brands and licenses. You will be responsible for seeing them through from concept to print production. Projects include t-shirt & fleece graphics, submitting for licensing approval and prepping for production. You will be responsible for ensuring that all graphic designs are consistent with our brand strategy and meet our specific performance, pricing, and aesthetic goals. We are looking for someone with a strong sense of design, color, and typography that understands and follows trends, and can coordinate production.

*Seasonal: duration 6 months

To be ultimately successful in this role you will develop a deep understanding of the Tillys customer and seek to progress the apparel category while maintaining Company DNA.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESConceptualize and create apparel graphics from conception through final print-ready art files including but not limited to sizing, placement on body and printer settingsStrong understanding of print production, Illustrator and Photoshop file building and manipulation, and approval process for printable categoriesStrong knowledge of the marketplace, trends, competitor product and the needs of the Tillys customerMaintain a strong sense of the Tillys customer design aesthetic through all design workResearch inspiration and keep abreast of relevant trends, sales information and the competitive landscapeCollaborate with the design department to develop and execute weekly deliverablesInterpret trend boards and design direction in order to develop graphicPartner with designers to ensure a cohesive collectionsCoordinate with brands and licenses for design approvalsPrepare print-ready artwork files and production settingsAssess and troubleshoot samplesDevelop and execute on ideation, building brand awareness and bringing our brand to lifeMaintain project libraries and organize graphics by season and conceptQUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Degree in Graphics Arts or related field5 years creating graphic teesExceptional skills in illustration and typographyStrong and relevant knowledge of trends in fashion and cultureExceptional skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Excel. Must be proficient in all three programs.Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills requiredHighly detailed with the ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining clear communicationApparel industry experienceMust be able to work remotely 1 time per weekPrint on demand experience preferredProduction experience preferredColorgate experience preferredExperience with tech packs preferredTYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS / EQUIPMENT USED / PHYSICAL TASKS

What to Expect?

Annual Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000: Offer placement within this range is dependent on a variety of factors, including prior relevant experience, qualifications, and skill set.

Based out of HQ in Irvine, CA with a minimum of 4 days in office.
