With a growing portfolio that includes direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels, owned retail stores, and wholesale partnerships, we are seeking a skilled Retention Marketing Manager to lead our CRM strategy and enhance our email and SMS marketing efforts.

Position Overview:

As the Retention Marketing Manager at JustFoodForDogs, you will be the driving force behind our CRM strategy, focusing on the deployment and optimization of email and SMS campaigns. Your primary goal will be to drive direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue and grow our subscriber base while supporting our omnichannel business, which includes our retail stores and wholesale operations. This is an individual contributor (IC) role reporting directly to our Head of Growth, with the exciting opportunity to build and lead a team as the business scales.

The position is remote, but we have the option to work from our offices in Tustin, CA or Phoenix, AZ if you prefer an in-person work environment.

Key Responsibilities:CRM Strategy Development:

Lead the development and execution of our CRM strategy for email and SMS marketing. Create segmented, targeted campaigns that drive customer engagement, increase DTC revenue, and enhance the overall customer experience. Strategize how to drive value from our most important customer segments based on spend level, products purchased or long-term loyalty to the brand. Focus on reactivating lapsed customers.Campaign Management:

Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of email and SMS campaigns, including flows, campaign / batch messages, and A/B tests. Develop and manage campaign calendars, ensuring timely and relevant communications to our subscribers.Performance Analysis:

Analyze campaign performance using KPIs such as open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, and revenue generated. Evaluate RFM (recency, frequency, monetary) analysis. Utilize insights to continuously improve and refine email and SMS marketing strategies.Subscriber Growth:

Implement strategies to increase our email and SMS subscriber base. Utilize best practices for list growth, segmentation, and lead nurturing.Omnichannel Integration:

Collaborate with the retail and wholesale teams to ensure cohesive messaging and promotions across all channels. Develop cross-channel campaigns that drive traffic and sales to both online and offline touchpoints.Tool Management:

Utilize Klaviyo and Retention.com to manage and optimize email and SMS programs. Stay updated on new features and best practices to ensure we are leveraging these tools effectively. Utilize Aftership to send post-purchase communications (order shipped, out for delivery, delivered).Content Creation:

Work with the creative team to develop engaging content for email and SMS communications. Ensure that messaging aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our target audience.Customer Insights:

Use data to understand customer behavior and preferences. Create personalized experiences that cater to the needs and interests of different customer segments.Compliance:

Ensure all email and SMS marketing practices comply with relevant regulations, including GDPR and CAN-SPAM Act. Own deliverability by monitoring spam rates and inboxing by email provider.Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in email marketing, CRM, or retention marketing, preferably in a consumer goods or direct-to-consumer business.Technical Skills:

Proficiency with Klaviyo and Retention.com. Experience with Aftership or other transactional systems, as well as other ESPs and CRM platforms is a plus.Analytical Skills:

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.Creativity:

Ability to create compelling content and design engaging email and SMS campaigns.Project Management:

Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Communication:

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.Why Join Us:
